Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is headed to the pub this afternoon like millions of other hardworking Australians do but this time, he’s trying a new watering hole.
As a new local to the Cenny Coast, Albo has donned the local dress as he heads down to the Kincumber Hotel, close to where he and fiancé Jodie Haydon have made a recent purchase.
Speaking to The Advocate a short time ago, Albo corrected our reporter off the bat.
“Ah, mate, I think you’ll find it’s actually called the Kinny Pub,” he said.
The Prime Minister said he’d traded his usual $89 off-the-rack two-piece Kelly Country special for a Bintang singlet, shin-length Fox Racing boardshorts, Anko thongs, Fox Racing flatbrim cap and white Oakley sunnies with blue lenses.
“And, uh, I’ve traded my usual work attire for something, uh, more befitting of the setting. I’m, uh, trying to be incognito up here as much as I can. It’s a great spot and, uh, the start of a new chapter,”
“Plus, uh, anyone who knows anything about everything knows that the Cooks River pongs in the summer time so it’ll, uh, be good to have a, uh, getaway. You know.”
As for his new work attire, Albo confirmed that he’s been browsing the range of modestly-priced three-piece suits at the Tuggerah Westfield Tarocash.
On the weekend, the Prime Minister is set to attend the Everest Race at Royal Randwick where he’s expect to trade the Kelly Country for the coastie formal dress of a grey pinstripe Tarocash three-piece suit, white belt, white loafers, white name-brand performance sunglasses, pukka shell necklace and the hair’s fringe gelled up to resemble a ski jump.
“That will also be a change for me but a welcome one,” said the PM.
“I’m happy.”
