In some random news in market research, it’s been discovered that a correlation has been found between blokes who deliberately placed their Xbox controllers on their lap as a teenager, and driving a modified car as an adult.
According to this study, Halo and Tony Hawk Pro Skater were the preferred games of choice, with one bloke citing that he’d ‘perfected subway rail grinding’ within just days of being gifted it at Christmas.
Though the reason between this link can only be hypothesised at this point, those who modify their car to be more obnoxious are said to exhibit more signs of extraversion and thrill seeking behaviour, as well as the tendency to push buttons – both literally and figuratively.
This same tendency has also proven a popular trait amongst those who gamed as teenagers, and adult gamers – the latter of which is 86% more likely to have a modified car than their non gaming counterparts. In particular, some variation of a Skyline, Subaru WRX and a Toyota Supra.
Mostly, what can be gathered is that blokes who liked the vrum vrum of a Xbox Controller also like the brum brum of a powerful engine.
More to come.
