A Year 8 student at Green Road State School in Betoota Heights says the Prime Minister’s actions this week have cost him his vote in the next election.
Wally Hunt explained to The Advocate that even though it’s a year until the social media ban actually kicks in for people under the age of 16, it’s enough for him to turn his back on Anthony Albanese as he does battle next year with the Coalition and Greens.
“He’s betrayed us,” Wally told our reporter.
“We will have to make him pay for it. At the election, I’m going to vote for someone who does care about social media.”
Despite being a sixth generation Australian and only having left Queensland once before, Wally says he’s going to vote for US President-elect Donald Trump at the upcoming general election.
“I’ve been following his journey on TikTok and he’s showing people like Albo how to do it. I’m going to vote for him,” Wally continued.
“I might be too young at this election but kids these days have long memories.”
Wally went on to say that it’s yet another blow dealt to kids like him that had much of their “youth stolen by the pandemic”.
When asked by our reporter how he planned on voting for Donald Trump in the next election, he said he didn’t care.
Which is fair enough.
More to come.
