Qantas CEO Alan Joyce has distanced himself from remarks he made earlier today about the West Australian Government, comparing it to North Korea.

In a press conference today in Sydney, the popular Irishman first apologised for the remarks before clarifying them for the waiting media.

“Oiy koinda few off the harndel thare, dudn’t oiy?” chuckled Joyce.

“Boht, oiy sthand boysoide whart oiy saad boiyfhur. Mhark, bhoody, oiy ghatta lheok afteh moy fooken shareholders. Yarr ard bardahr uz fooken moy aharloiyne oop. Sey ploise ophen oop.”

WA Supreme Leader Mark McGowan laughed off the remarks made earlier by Mr Joyce and says he doesn’t have any hard feelings toward him.

McGowan told The Advocate that it’s all in a days work of being at the top of your game.

“Alan [Joyce] knows I’m not some D4 fuckboy with a LinkedIn lanyard around my neck at some pub in Ballsbridge,” said McGowan.

“He also knows I’m not some Dalkey prince who dines out on stories of seeing Bono’s dick at the urinal at Finnegan’s. He knows I’m more of an East Wall boy. I’m from Newcastle,”

“Like all of us, we fly off the handle sometimes and in public life, you can’t take it back. Tell you what, but. If he boots me from the Chairman’s Longue then someone’s getting shirtfronted in the middle of Terminal 2.”

More to come.
