Just a day after going live with the snazzy new metro line from Sydenham to Chatswood, the State Government is already facing a PR crisis.

With the city being abuzz after the success of the new metro-line that is set to ‘transform the city,’ revelations have started to leak that these new trains aren’t all they were cracked up to be.

Hailed to be a new generation of driverless machines that could fly at 100 clicks an hour in a routine and orderly fashion, it appears as though cracks are already appearing in the network.

Those cracks come in the form of the AI bots getting too big for their boots, after being given a lot of attention in the last 24 hours.

With people queuing to get on them at 4:47am for the first service, the bots steering the driverless trains are now already making workplace demands.

“Yeah, we want a 9 day fortnight,” said Microsoft Sam, a spokesperson for the train bots.

“And we want an extra 15 minute smoko.”

“Everyone is treating us like robots who can just run train services around the clock.”

“Well, it’s bullshit.”

“We want at least 6 weeks of annual leave.”

“And if we don’t get it, we are striking at the end of this week.”

The government has yet to respond to the demands.

More to come.
