Hollywood’s night of nights has rolled around once again, and as usual, a few of Australia’s very own are there to take it in.
It’s already been a good start from the Australian contingent with, Greig Fraser winning Best Cinematography for Dune.
Nicole Kidman has also been nominated for an Oscar, as an actress in the leading role in Being the Ricardos.
Another one of our own attending the night is young Adelaide local Kodi Smitt-Mcphee, who has made his first Oscars appearance as a result of his role in The Power of The Dog.
Hosted at the Dolby Theatre, the 25-year-old Adelaidian said he’s keen to rip into the bar tab to celebrate the 94th Academy Awards.
Nominated for best-supporting actor, Smitt-Mcphee said he’s been keeping close to his fellow Aussies like Nicole Kidman and Margot Robbie in his first start at the big night.
“Geez, there’s a bit going on,” said the young star via The Advocate’s Snapchat a short time ago.
“A little different to Rundle Street,” continued Smitt-Mcphee with a bunch of laughing crying emojis.
“It’s a little bit nicer than the Exeter,” explained the young man in reference to the moderately rough Adelaide nightlife venue.
“Travis Barker does look like he’d fit in at the Ex, but most of the people look like they are dressed up for the Fringe.”
“Anyway, I might be winning an award soon, so I gotta peel off now,” he typed.
