The rat people of Sydney will have to wait a little longer for some proper airborne hospitality after low-cost carrier Bonza announced it has no plans to service the place in the near future.
Sydney is the nation’s largest market and home to a harbour that’s widely considered to be the southern hemisphere’s largest open-air sewer. It’s incredibly expensive there because there’s lots of people there and not many places to live. Many of those places where people do live are pretty grim.
Bonza does not service Perth yet but plans to do so because they’re fine and upstanding people. Except the airline is looking to geo-block their app in areas such as Rockingham and Bunbury.
However, it seems the main reason why Bonza has chosen not to come to Sydney is because they don’t want to unleash the Sydney wanker upon the rest of the nation.
“If it’s one thing people in Sydney love, it’s a bargain,” said the statement.
“That’s too bad. At Bonza, we want to make the lives of ordinary Australians better by providing them with a new way to see the country in a safe and affordable way,”
“Plus, Sydney Airport charges a revoltingly high landing fee and hanger subscription so they can shove it.”
An Ouyen man told The Advocate that Bonza made his dream come true of seeing salt water in the flesh.
Flying from the bustling inland port city of Mildura to the Sunshine Coast, Dennis Peg said paying the $59 to fly at 12:27am on a Tuesday night was a small price to pay to see the waves of Mooloolaba.
“Yeah, I thought the sea would be more impressive,” he said.
“I was more impressed [sic] by the Murray floods this year.”
More to come.
