A brand new “retro-style” Roosters jersey has been handed into a Bondi Junction laundromat this week after being debuted at Allianz Stadium over the weekend.

The Advocate understands that at approximately 10:15am yesterday morning Hugo Chiswick (28), from Paddington, needed to drop the jersey into Double Bubble Laundry on Oxford Street for a fresh steam clean.

Born and bred in the glittering Eastern suburbs, Hugo is one of the many Sydney Roosters fans that puts their SCG membership to good use by attending one game a year, which is more often than not the one game where he can boo his forehead off at an “arrogant” team from Redfern.

However after attending Allianz Stadium on Friday to watch his beloved “Easts” play the Rabittohs, a minor mishap with a bursting plate of Burrata cheese at a Darlinghurst wine bar after the game, forced Hugo to take the jersey he bought two weeks ago to the dry cleaners.

“Uggghh such a pain!” said Hugo, as he tapped his Amex card to tackle the $55 cleaning fee, “I literally bought this the other day!”

Now sporting a creamy stain on the front of the jersey, just like his favourite beige M.J Bale suit he wears once a year to a wedding, his new Roosters jersey will now also get the laundry treatment before ending up in the back of his wardrobe.

“I’m not going to need this again, it’s not like I’ll ever venture west of Surry Hills to one of those yucky suburban grounds, they don’t have any Merivale food out at Leichhardt!”

“Maybe if we make the finals I might wear it again, but until then it’s Swannies season! I’ve got a brand new scarf and XXL sized beanie that can actually fit my melon.”

More to come.
