The Daily Telegraph have today responded to the ‘outlandish’ and ‘disgusting’ claims levelled against them over the last couple of days.

The national paper of merit has hit out at critics accusing it of trying to incite hate, pointing to its unblemished history of promoting unity and social harmony.

“It’s fucking disgraceful,” said Daily Telegraph Editor Ben English to The Advocate today.

“How anyone could accuse us of deliberately trying to stir up an ethnic minority to sell papers and clicks is beyond me.”

English’s comments come after the Daily Terrorgraph were accused of trying to bait employees at a Newtown cafe called Cairo Takeaway, for a sensationalised story about anti-semitism in Australia.

In a genius ploy aimed at ‘highlighting the rise in anti-semitism’ (and nothing to do with stoking Islamophobia in the community), The Daily Telegraph sent a photographer and journo with a prominent Jewish activist to ‘see what it’s like on the streets.’

With the bait actually not being taken by anyone eating, drinking or working in the cafe at the time, the activist and the journalists then proceeded to up the anti to try and get a reaction and some sensational footage to pump across their media network.

However, the ploy has since backfired, with all round condemnation for the disgusting stunt acted out by a newspaper that has seemingly done away with any attempts at trying to publish journalism.

While many have been left shaking their head at the race to the bottom for the remaining employees at the Daily Telegraph, Editor Ben English has lashed out at the detractors.

“This is modern journalism, grow the fuck up.”

“There are no ethics, there are no morals.”

“You chase things that you think will drive hatred (aka clicks and papers) and you blindly do what your bosses tell you to do.”

“Now fuck off.”
