A student from Betoota Heights has struck gold today.
The stroke of luck came as the man named Hayze Timms meandered his way through the mine shafts at his local Dan Murphys.
Struggling to find a decent case of grog for a house party this evening, Timms hit the nugget of gold at the back of the cool room.
Searching for an easy drinking lager that he could impress his mates with, Timms landed upon a unique slab of beer that he’d never seen before.
“Fosters Classic mate,” explained Timms to our bemused reporter out the front of Uncle Dans.
“You should try it some time,” he said, completely unaware of what he was saying.
“Nice retro looking, and new enough that I reckon I’ll be a trailblazer at the party,” mused the bloke who always likes to show off his unique taste.
When asked if he was aware that the ‘new beer’ in his hands is probably Australia’s most famous drop (both in Australia and around the world), Timms looked perplexed.
“Huh?” he said, blissfully unaware of the beautiful crisp lager that has been at the core of so many Australian memories.
“Fosters is an Aussie icon that they’ve brought back in a nostalgic throwback to the glory days?” he asked.
“Well don’t tell anyone that at the party haha.”
“I’m moving forward with the narrative that I’ve just discovered this sick new beer, okay,” he laughed, trundling off to the party up the road.
