The economic powerhouse of Greece have this week reminded the world why they are still global leaders when it comes to leadership of the people.

The country famous for inventing democracy and getting bailed out by the European union because they are worse at spending money than a pissed FIFO on a Gold Coast bucks party, have revealed that they will be modifying the working week.

As a massive groundswell around the world grows to reduce the 5 day working week which is popular in “developed” countries (many of whom exploit “developing” countries for their wealth) the Greeks have decided to re-pioneer the 6 day working week.

The interesting move is aimed at ‘raising productivity’ across the country, but has left the constituents of the nation absolutely seething.

The new policy will come into force at the end of the year, and will force all Greeks to now grift money off tourists an extra day a week!

“This move may seem punitive to the general population, but with tourism numbers only going up on the mainland and the islands, we need to cash in on cashed up holiday makers,” said the Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

“There needs to be a coordinated national effort to get as much money out of obnoxious Americans, Brits, Chinese and Aussies.”

“Obviously Church on Sunday’s is a non-negotiable.”

Mitsotakis said that tourists from the Parthenon to Santorini need to be charged 8 euros for a bottle of water.

“Absurdly overpriced insurance needs to be sold to tourists after they have already paid a non-refundable fee for a Scooter at all times,” said Mitsotakis.

“In this economy, there can be minimal days off.”

More to come.
