A Betoota Heights mum has today kindly offered up some words of support to one of her acquaintances.
Rolling in for the afternoon pickup at Betoota Heights Primary (BHP), go getter mum Alicia Ainsworth decided to let one of the other mum’s know that she’s doing fine, honestly.
This comes after Ainsworth actively brought up how low effort the book week outfits were for the kids of fellow mum Joanna Renzo.
“Oh, didn’t manage much of an outfit today we,” asked Ainsworth in that passive aggressive tone that borders on a condescending laugh, in regards to Renzo’s two kids.
“That’s okay sweetheart, they look great, and it’s not about that anyone. It’s not a competition.”
The unprompted conversation came after Ainsworth brought her two ‘little munchkins’ to school in spectacularly expensive and well planned outfits for the 3rd day in a row.
The fancy dress ups come as part of the annual Book Week event, which aims to encourage young kids to pick up a book and experience the joy of reading by dressing up as characters from books.
While a lovely and novel idea to teach kids the incredible benefits of reading, the week can often draw out the highly competitive mums and dads, who like to use the opportunity to prove they are better than the other parents.
Ainsworth is one of those parents, who after not immediately being given a compliment by one of the other mum’s decided to take the upper ground.
“You love your outfit don’t you,” said Ainsworth to her kids, in front of Renzo and hers.
“See you tomorrow. We’ve got a great outfit in store,” said the CEO of full time mummy.
“Can’t wait to see what you guys come in,” she said, with that smile.
“Alright, let’s get going,” said Ainsworth, packing her kids into the SUV with Ipads on the back of the headrests for the kids to use on the drive home.
More to come.
