A local 2nd generation Italian man is walking on clouds today, it can be confirmed.

The man who makes a point of letting people known he’s from the north of Italy, has rolled into work after another fantastic morning supporting Italy’s national football team.

This follows the most Italian football team shit ever, with the Azzurri scoring a sensational last minute equaliser to take the Spaghetti boys out of the group.

With Italian fans staring down the barrel of elimination from the Euros and their title defence crumbling at the first hurdle, Mattia Zaccagni scored in the 98th minute.

The absurd, absurd late equaliser sent the stadium, the country of Italy and the Italian diaspora around the world into pandemonium.

Famous for somehow finding a way to scrape through at major tournaments they then somehow seem to win, the 1-1 draw with Croatia is another chapter in the decorated history of the Azzurri.

Speaking to The Advocate earlier this morning, Roberto De Angelis said he’ll be wearing the Dolmio grin all day.

“The Italian boys put the work in, so we can wear the Dolmio grin,” said De Angelis.

“We are winning the whole thing from here.”

“Just you watch, sure we aren’t a highly fancied this time around, but that just makes us more of a threat.”

“Now we go into the knockouts and that Italiano defence goes to work baby.”

“Good luck to anyone who wants to take us to a penalty shoot out.”

“How are the Greeks going at the tournament by the way,” he laughed.

“Oh, and I don’t mind saying goodbye to Croatia and Albania as well.”

“Forzzzzaaaaaaaaa Italliaaaaaaa.”
