A JB Hi-Fi Store Manager has shown the world who’s boss today, after arriving to work flaunting three retail lanyards.

It appears after six years rising through the ranks of the Betoota Heights franchise store, Kevin ‘Big Dog’ Collins finally has the retail bling to prove his experience on the sales floor.

Referred to throughout the JB Hi-Fi community as the ‘Microsoft Medals’, the three lanyards signify Kevin’s commitment to upselling a questionable three year extended warranty with every laptop purchase.

When asked about his recent promotion to Store Manager, Kevin conceded the new neckwear held some personal significance.

“Well of course I remember the first time I got to wear a JB Hi-Fi lanyard, they give you one on your first day.”

“After a year you’re allowed to decorate it with stickers and shit, so I went to town covering it with Baby Yoda stickers.”

When asked about his career ascension through the ‘WiFi Ceiling’, Kevin believes it was his sustained loyalty to the electronic retail giant that drove his success.

“After two years stacking CD’s and DVD’s and pointing newlyweds to where the kitchen appliances are, I got promoted to a ‘Double Langyard’ and that means you get to work in Headphones and Audio.”

“And they reckon I still hold the state record for the most amount of Sonos speakers sold in a day. I hocked off 14 of em’ two days before Christmas once and the boss gave me a gift card as a bonus.”

Speaking via Zoom with JB Hi-Fi Queensland’s Regional Manager Harvey Gorman (63),  Gorman spoke glowingly about Mr Collin’s commitment to his store.

“As one of our most valued employees, I’m really proud to see Kevin embracing his triple lanyard setup.”

“He’s certainly a role model for many of our young Uni employees. It goes to prove if you turn up on time and don’t steal Xbox games from the back room, then you’ll be rewarded in our company.”
