A work Christmas party is hot out of the gates, after a lawless boss was spotted kickstarting the occasion with an opening round of Margaritas.
At approximately 12:12pm this afternoon, The Advocate understands several ‘Woooo’s’ could be heard throughout the loft ceiling of popular french quarter restaurant “FireHound”, after company CEO Adam Bec-Bridge, started proceedings with a tray of high-octane tequila cocktails.
Known throughout the company as a ‘shoot-from-the-hip’ type manager with little regard for the long term mental wellbeing of staff, it’s believed Bec-Bridge’s chaotic office behaviour as company executive had secretly earned him the title, ‘The Typhoon Tycoon’.
After three years managing online fashion startup, ‘Azure Collective’, Bec-Bridge’s poor track record managing the employee welfare throughout the pandemic and the questionable funnelling of funds from JobSeeker payments, had set up a ticking time bomb of oncoming drama.
Speaking to Office Manager, Emily Harris (29), the decision to start the Christmas lunch with enough tequila to poison an ironbark tree, was an early sign things would not end well.
“Just quietly it’s been a hard year at this fashion boutique, there’s been a lots of rogue hirings and firings, chaos and tears, starting the lunch with Margs is only going to end in disaster,” said Ms Harris.
“I know for a fact half the table are trying to leave this bin fire of a company next year in the great resignation, so it’s going to get real messy now that the ‘Truth Juice’ is out.”
Speaking to fashion intern Sophia Olsen (22), The Advocate understands the tequila shout was rather welcomed by a small cohort of underpaid staff.
“Waooohhhh, kicking off with Margs! This is a Christmas I can get behind!” said an enthusiastic Ms Olsen, who was attending her first adult Christmas party.
“Back at Cotton On, on Christma Eve they used to give us a $20 movie voucher and whatever novelty socks were left on the shelf.”
“A Marg on the company card?! I can’t say no to that!.”
More to come.
