A local gaggle of concreters is picking up where they left off yesterday, after a patch of heavy rain this morning.
Rolling in after what was a sizeable ANZAC Day for most of the crew, the local concreters were greeted this morning by heavy clouds, and frequent bursts of rain.
After fiddling about with a few loose ends, and trying to battle the persistent rain, around 9 am the call was eventually made by the boss to call it quits for the day.
With the kids all back and in school and the rest of the day to kill, the group who work for Grahams and Sons Concreting then made the logical decision to head down for a quaint little brunch.
“Just a couple of Betoota Bitters thanks love,” said one of the older guys on the crew to the single employee registered at an inner-city dive bar for travelers and rained out tradies, who knew he meant jugs and not schooners.
Strolling out to the group of mostly younger men scrolling on their phones, the old boy then opened proceedings.
With the pitter-patter of rain falling and the drones that work in the offices that make up Betoota’s Old City District humming away, the group then got stuck into a very Instagrammable brunch date.
At the time of press, it’s believed the concreters brunch was up to its 8th round, with a disparaging comment about someone’s sister currently resulting in a push and shove.
More to come.
