When local woman Elise Holland decided to get lash extensions for the first time, she was instantly converted.
As someone who wasn’t blessed in the lash department, it was nice to wake up to perfect lashes every day, even if it meant she had to forcibly stop herself from touching them all the time.
And though the upkeep was both costly and time-intensive, Elise knew she could never go back – especially as she’d been doing it for several months now, and her natural lashes were likely short and stubby after having multiple lashes break off.
However, with these upsides comes some major behaviour adjustment, as not only can Elise never rub her eyes again, but she also has to avoid crying for 24 hours after a retouch.
A feat that doesn’t seem that difficult in retrospect, considering it’s only once a fortnight.
Strangely enough, though Elise reported feeling fine most of the time, she’s almost always guaranteed to feel teary within this time frame – an almost pavlovian response that makes entirely no sense.
For today’s impromptu crying session, Elise has just discovered that her ex-partner Savannah, has got a new girlfriend…which she found out because she looked it up. Stupid.
Feeling the telltale glistening of tears welling from her lower lids, Elise has to remind herself that she’s got another 14 hours to go until the glue has dried, so her breakdown will have to wait until tomorrow.
More to come.
