A French Quarter woman is today feeling a little under nourished, after treating herself to a pretty basic dinner last night.

The young professional from our town’s rapidly gentrifying outer CBD district said she’s feeling pretty empty today.

“Yeah a packet of chippies wasn’t exactly the dinner my body needed last night,” laughed Rachel Smithers, who vaguely remembers scratching her key around the door look at some point after 2am on Saturday night.

“At least they were the fancy Honey Soy Chicken ones,” she laughed.

The wholesome and nutritious meal came despite Rachel spending a large chunk of her afternoon indulging in food related TikToks.

“I went down a wormhole,” explained the young woman in need of the endorphin hit rolling short social media videos can provide.

“I ended up spending like 20 minutes watching some Balkan guy make insane feeds out of all sorts of animals and animal parts.”

“And I watched about 50 videos of healthy meals that are perfect and easy to make on a cold weeknight.”

“But they weren’t easy enough for me to actually make.”

Smithers then said she has saved plenty of videos for future use.

“Just not when I feel like there are insects crawling over my brain.”

Smithers then went back to staring at a couple of spreadsheets she’d been bouncing between aimlessly for the last couple of hours.

More to come.
