As the dust settled from the weekend that was, local woo girls brace themselves for Tuesday’s impending “Debt Settling” group text, a sobering reality of the money they’re all owing.
As has become customary amongst the group, brief respite is afforded on Monday while serotonin levels are at an all time low, before Tuesdays comms where these social butterflies start to regret their collective over excitement from the weekends festivities.
As debt settling texts begin to fly, the reality of living off rice and tinned tuna for the next fortnight begin to hit home.
The occasion for the big weekend blowout? Nothing whatsoever. However history has shown that when these girls get together, all it takes is a subtle glance post first round of cocktails for someone to text a number to secure some second release ‘rockstar’ tickets to be delivered promptly.
‘How are we all feeling from the weekend?’ one group member asked, ‘I was so scat yesterday’ another responded.
‘Has everyone put their stuff into Splitwise?’, the initiator asked, quickly following up with a BSB and Account Number.
As the brief updates and depressing banter settled, the majority of the group complied with a ‘transferring now’.
All except for one who clarified that she ‘only had one line’.
Despite the usual empty promises of ‘never drinking again’, we know that by the time Friday rolls round, these Woo girls will be straight back at it.
