A local Gulf Country man has proven to a crowd of onlookers that he can handle the big jobs.
Mornington man Jaxon Laban (29) has done so by navigating his way through a crowd of revellers at the Mt Isa Rodeo this weekend – armed to the gills with some tins and taters.
Laban was spotted by impressed onlookers on Saturday night at Rodeo, double stacking and parking a quartet of tins and jamming a couple of potatoes on a stick into his gob.
It’s believed a pack of darts and a vape were also wedged into his pockets, with young Laban thoroughly enjoying the annual international event.
“Not bad aye,” winked Laban, popping down onto the hill above the stadium for a dreamy Saturday night in the Isa.
“Not my first rodeo,” he laughed.
“No point doing a half arsed job of a drinks run is there.”
“Might jump in the ring later and have a little dance as well I reckon,” continued Laban, referencing the fabled Brophy Boxing troupe that makes its way to the town for the big show.
“See how we go.”
“Couple of sugarcane champagnes at Isa and see how I go,” he smirked.
“Weekends don’t get much better.”
“How good’s the Isa.”
More to come.
