Rugby League’s most successful team of the 2020s are today keeping the good times going – leaning into the hallowed tradition of Mad Monday.

This comes after the 2024 NRL Grand Final saw the Penrith Panthers solidify their dominance with a historic fourth consecutive premiership, defeating the Melbourne Storm 14-6.

Lead by all the usual suspects, the boys from the Riff got it done in a relentless performance that barely gave Melbourne a sniff.

Fronting their adoring fans in the Golden West after another glorious season this morning- the boys are still in good spirits (pardon the pun) well after the final siren last night.

With a sit down breakfast not on the menu this morning for a bunch of post-season rugby league players, the boys are enjoying a spread of Fireball infused Mad Monday coffees.

With Kangaroo Court likely just around the corner, the boys have kicked off Monday with a bang.

It’s believed that the man responsible for the innovative Mad Monday practice was Chief Energy Officer Brian To’o – who swapped out his normal breakfast of two burgers, a bowl of chips and 6 coke zeroes for the cinnamon flavoured whisky.

“Haha brekky of champions,” laughed Dylan Edwards, still in his footy shorts from the game, and holding a Strawberry Watermelon Ice vape in one hand.

“Bit of fireball and a strong cappuccino and ya can’t go wrong,” nodded the departing Bash-Bro, James-Fisher Harris.

“Ah, certainly helps with the shoulder too,” laughed Cleary, who’s been battling a niggle in the wing.

“Certainly better than an injection.”

Veterans of a few euphoric Mad Mondays, Panthers stalwart and Pride Of Dubbo Issah Yeo explained the boys all learned the hack last year.

“This is not my first rodeo. You don’t want anything carbonated in your stomach until at least lunch time. Trust me, I know.”

“So naturally, it’s a long black with some Fireball. It’ll put hairs on your chest. Look at me, I’m a human bathmat.” he said.

More to come.
