Scott Morrison’s reputation as ‘The Liar From The Shire’ is starting to stick it would seem, after the Prime Minister made an outrageous claim to some of the boys in his office this afternoon.
As the embattled Liberal leader begins to desperately fend off the growing accusations that he is an untrustworthy human being, it seems even his own party are starting to grow wary of his ability to lie without conscience.
Scott Morrison was asked directly by 3AW radio host Neil Mitchell if he had ever told a lie in public life.
“I don’t believe I have, no. No,” Mr Morrison replied.
Even Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce has struggled to back this bold claim by Scotty. When asked by reporters in Canberra today if his Prime Minister had ever lied in public life, Mr Joyce conceded he probably had.
Knowing full well that his own team are now starting to question everything he has ever said to them, Scotty From Marketing has today had to ramp up his Aussie-Blokeness – to shake everyone off the scent of him being a lying crook.
As an awkward silence falls upon his office after yet another disastrous week of PR, Scotty decides to share a bit of personal information with the Hillsong-pilled Young Liberal incels that work under him.
“Haha. Have I ever told you boys that I went on a few dates with Natalie Imbruglia back in the day?” says Scotty, completely unprompted.
“Back before I meet Jenny, ya know”
“Back when I was a bachelor”
The volunteered information almost appears to impress his younger male colleagues, before the one person in his office capable of basic maths decides to pipe up.
“Wait a minute boss” said one of the Liberal staffers, whose name is probably Hugo or Humphrey or something.
“Didn’t you and Jenny meet at church when you were like twelve?”
“You’re 53 now… So we are talking like 40 years ago”
Scotty nervously giggles, before clarifying a few details.
“Yeah. It wasn’t like peak Natalie Imbruglia… Like when she was on the radio…”
“It was before she was famous”
The pesky staffer refuses to drop it.
“Scotty… She would have been like 6 years old then”
“Maybe you shouldn’t tell that story?”
Morrison responds to this comment bitterly, before asking what story???
Another staffer interjects.
“The story you just told us about dating Natalie Imbruglia, before you met Jenny”
Scott Morrison scowls.
“That is a LABOR LIE! I never said I went on a date with Natalie Imbruglia!”
