SOEUL – REPUBLIC OF KOREA
South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol is today weighing up a bombshell next move.
The man who was taken in for questioning by the nation’s corruption agency yesterday, is apparently considering skipping town for a spur of the moment trip to a remote island.
This follows the police officer who detained the President giving him a secret card with a triangle, circle and square on it.
Made popular by the Netflix reality TV show Squid Game, the cards are official invitations to take part in a secret tournament which sees the winner take home 468 billion South Korean Won.
The cards are often given to people who are at the last chance saloon, with the President currently in a bit of strife.
South Korea’s anti-corruption agency says President Yoon Suk Yeol has been detained over accusations related to his December 3 martial law declaration.
His arrest is the first ever for an incumbent South Korean president.
A defiant Mr Yoon said he submitted himself for questioning on Wednesday to avoid any violence after more than 3,000 police officers marched on his residence to arrest him.
However he is still refusing to talk, with allegations he spent the night practicing Ddakji.
He was unavailable for comment.
More to come.
