Viewers of TV channels like Imparja, WIN and NBN are today reeling after some terrible business news.
After decades of being treated to awful commercials from local businesses and government agencies, viewers of regional TV have been rattled to learn that Rivers clothing will be shutting down.
The iconic retailer of affordable fashion for modest and humble outer metro and rural people, has confirmed that it will be closing the doors on 136 stores across the country.
The unfortunate news followed the owner of chain going into liquidation, with a buyer unable to be found for Rivers.
“Fuck, nothing lasts for ever hey,” explained one regional raised woman now living in the big smoke.
“What a shame. Who’s gonna do ads for ugly shirts with incredible graphics?”
“Where do we go from here?”
“Next thing regional shopping centres won’t be running promotional adverts anymore.”
“A sad day indeed.”
Rivers was contact for comment, but just provided one monotone line saying:
“We are closing down. Good bye.”
No more to come.
