Prime Minister Scott Morrison has moved to assure the people of NSW that he’ll be up real shortly.
This comes after 70 different blazes ravage NSW and 30 fires rip through Queensland, as most of the Eastern Seaboard is pretty much on fire.
NSW firefighters are in “uncharted territory” as more than 9 emergency level fires rage across the state with reports of people injured and trapped in their homes.
Another 9 bushfires are at a Watch and Act level. At 6:30am there were 77 bush or grass fires with 42 uncontained.
The PM said he’ll come up for a few photo opps with the firefighters battling blazes around the Port Macquarie region right after this State Futsal Final wraps up.
“Scores are pretty tight here,” said the excited PM who has been hopping from sporting match to sporting match over the last few weeks.
“Hopefully it doesn’t go to penalties and I can jet up there to show my support by handing out bottles of water to the fireys.”
“Anyway, this game’s on the line, so if you wouldn’t mind.”
More to come.
