A young shredder from the Gold Coast has today added another few hundred grams of Gold to the national medal tally.
In one of the gnarliest displays seen by Australia, Arisa Trew has just ripped up the La Concorde skate ramp, winning Australia’s 14th Gold Medal.
The incredible display is made even more incredible by the fact that Trew is only 14 years old.
Aged 14 years and 86 days, Trew becomes the youngest ever Australian Gold Medalist, eclipsing the milestone achieved by Australia’s previous youngest medallist, swimmer Sandra Morgan.
Trew recorded a top-scoring run of 93.18 at La Concorde in central Paris in the final on Wednesday morning, topping the podium and proving just what kids can achieve when they get off their bloody phones for two minutes!
The incredible display on the skateboard has come as vindication to the everyone over the age of 25, who feel like Trew will set an example to all these other kids moving forward.
“NOT A PHONE IN SIGHT,” said some 25-year-old brain rot office worker who saw the gold medal winning performance on TikyTok this morning during their 30 minute social media wormhole scroll.
“How good is that aye.”
“Kids just getting out there and being kids, like back when I was a kid,” said the young man who use to spend like 3 hours a day on his Playstation.
“Gives ya hope for the future.”
More to come.
