It has been reported that the first wave of Serbian mates reminding friends and colleagues that Djokovic is the GOAT has already begun.

The annual tradition, which coincides with the Australian open, sees all 94,997 Serbian-Australians collectively spend a few weeks celebrating the god-like abilities of Novak Djokovic to anyone that will give them a second of their time.

“We’re just here to make sure everyone knows Novak is the greatest tennis player of all time,” said Milan, a 33-year-old plumber from Sydney’s west.

“You’d be amazed at how many people don’t know. Like, you try to tell someone, ‘Hey, Novak’s won 24 Grand Slams,’ and they act like it’s not even a big deal.”

As the Australian Open intensifies, Djokovic fans across Melbourne are bracing for the inevitable barrage of unsolicited facts, starting with the obligatory “Did you know Novak is 36 and still winning like he’s 20?” followed by an impromptu history lesson on the GOAT debate.

“Mate, I can’t even watch the Open anymore without hearing about it,” said Greg Yates (43), a local who happens to be married to a Serbian woman.

“It’s like, yeah, I get it, Djokovic is great. But you don’t need to drop it into every conversation. I literally just asked if you wanted to grab a coffee.”

The flood of Djokovic commentary is expected to continue well into the tournament, with Serbian-Australians planning to carry on their crusade all the way to another grand slam victory.

“I don’t know why people get so defensive about it,” Milan shrugged. “It’s just facts. Novak’s the GOAT, and if you’re not on board, you’re probably still clinging to Federer or Nadal—bless their hearts.”
