A Betoota Heights empty nester has won the praise of her kids again this week, after standing up for the poor British Royal Family.
Making a quick call to say hello to one of her daughters living down in Brisbane, Carol Devine quickly found a way to bring up a topic that’s been weighing heavily on her mind lately.
With her daughter ummhmmming her way through the conversation as she plodded around the supermarket, Carol asked her youngest if she had seen any of the latest stuff about Meghan Markle.
“Geez she’s a nightmare that Meghan isn’t she,” prodded Carol, hopping for the affirmation she gets from Sky News and the Betoota Bugle (News Corp’s Channel Country newspaper.)
“She what’s she done now? It’s like she’s obsessed with ruining the Royal family and poisoning that poor Harry’s brain.”
“I mean, I knew from the start he never should have gone near her, but goodness she is possessed,” she continued perpetuating the narrative that one outsider could somehow cripple a Royal institution with thousands of employees and millions upon millions of dollars at their disposal.
Quickly jumping in, Carol’s daughter then piped up with a question about the latest legal developments in the case of Prince Andrew, the close friend of Jeffrey Epstein.
“Oh um that’s not good is it. I mean, yeah it’s just um, not great, but I’m not sure how much there actually is to it,” mumbled the Sky News mum who blindly believes anything written about Meghan Markle.
“But, yeah, your father doesn’t like that Meghan either by the way, it’s not just me,” she continued launching in again as her daughter laughed and tuned out.
“I wish she’d just leave them all alone,” she said about the woman who flew 1000s of kilometres away to try and set up a new life.
