Much of Sydney has been seen stockpiling sandbags, bottled water and generators, in preparation for what could be the Bulldogs first top 4 finish in ages.
Many residents fear that a potential Bulldogs grand final could bring untold levels of chaos to the streets of Sydney.
Canterbury and Bankstown, home of the Bulldogs, has long been viewed by much of Sydney as the loudest area in the city, where seemingly any positive Bulldogs news is met with Lebanese drums and Burnouts on the main street.
The club which has long dwelled at the bottom of the table has turned things around in recent times and has found themselves sitting on the cusp of top 4.
Tracey Bridgemore (54), a mother of four on Sydney’s Dulwich Hill on the edge of the Canterbury region, has reportedly already begun boarding up windows and stockpiling essential goods in case the Bulldogs run continues.
“I just don’t want to imagine the party that will happen if Bulldogs actually win this thing,” she laughed.
The NSW State Emergency Service has already begun deploying sandbags to reinforce the local pubs and kebab shops, which are expected to be at the heart of the mayhem. Meanwhile, local barbers have been inundated with requests for fresh fades, ready for the post-match bender.
Even more shockingly, many Bulldogs supporters say that the fears are totally understandable.
“If we win the Premiership you are going to witness one of the biggest street parties in Sydney’s history, simple as that,” said 29 year old Bankstown resident Moe Khoury.
“It’s gonna be fuckin hectic cuz.”
“Trust me.”
