A police station is today under investigation for allegedly sending out fewer than ten officers to a verbal altercation in the middle of the mall.
It’s alleged this incident occurred outside of the Fortitude Valley maccas at roughly 7:50pm, which saw two blokes having a heated argument over nothing in particular.
Though this slinging match didn’t appear as though it would accelerate, considering both blokes were standing three metres away from each other, onlookers say the word ‘dog cunt’ was used roughly several times, as well as suggestions that one of them should ‘keep fucking walking.’
Normally, a biff such as this would attract at least fifteen officers, whose presence would then attract a legion of onlookers, making everything a lot more dramatic than needed.
However, it’s reported that only seven officers were spotted at the scene, with just two of them speaking to the troublemakers.
Speaking to The Advocate, Sergeant Eric Reynolds says he’s deeply disappointed with his force, who should have known better than to send such a small number of officers for such a monumental task.
“It’s not good enough”, says Eric, “I expect a lot better judgement than this, it’s really poor form.”
“They’re lucky the situation didn’t escalate.”
“What if one of them had said something negative about the other’s mother?”
‘You’re telling me seven police officers can handle a fist fight? I don’t think so.”
Adding that the police officer responsible for making the decision was now under probation, Sergeant Reynolds says more stringent training will be put in place to ensure something like this never happens again.
More to come.
