Opposition leader Peter Dutton is fantasising today about appearing on a future episode of the Joe Rogan Experience after seeing the effect it had on disenfranchised young male voters in America.

The podcast, the largest in the world, is very popular in Australia and holds a colossal amount of social capital with a large percentage of men aged between 18 and 44.

With the traditional media in this country currently in the throes of death, politicians such as Mr Dutton and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese are embracing more direct channels in their quest to court voters ahead of next year’s election.

Which is why Peter Dutton has caught himself daydreaming about appearing on The Joe Rogan Experience; a place where he’s able to speak directly to voters without having to either interact with the decrepit gargoyles and anxious pick me girls of conservative media or the sanctimonious ice bath slash infrared sauna enjoyers and poached egg eating suckholes of the progressive media space.

Mr Dutton spoke to The Advocate in a rare interview where he detailed the vivid visions he had yesterday.

“I would enjoy it but I would not like it if he smoked that hoota in front of me,” he said.

“But I think it’s a place to have a common sense conversation about nuclear powers and uh, yeah possibly submarines and a few other things. They do go for a while, don’t they? I suppose we could talk about how ridiculous it is that Redcliffe made a statue for not just one Bee Gee but all four of them. Or was there only three? Who cares, it was a waste of money,”

“Perhaps Joe would be able to talk to me about other things. Trade or what-have-you. With these Trump tarrifs, we will be getting cheap Chinese EVs. I would never drive one. Actually, we can talk about China. There’s lots to talk about there.”

The Advocate reached out to Joe Rogan for comment but have yet to receive a reply.

More to come.
