Turns out the rise of Federal Independents was not a fad. That’s according to the least covered political event of 2025.

In news that has been valiantly shielded from the general public by Australia’s nervous traditional media outlets, it seems the biggest election campaign launch in Australia has just taken place in Sydney’s upper north shore. And it wasn’t an Labor or Liberal event.

For those who did witness the 600 plus volunteers that made their way to the leafy greens of St Ives Showgrounds over the weekend, it seems that the Federal Opposition is a good chance of losing the safest seat in the history of their party.

Independent candidate for Bradfield, Nicolette Boelle only just came short of joining the 6 other female challengers that kicked the Liberals out of their safest electorates in the 2022 ‘Teal Wave’.

But she still managed a 46% swing against the sitting member Paul Fletcher – an old man who remained completely silent during the Brittany Higgins and RoboDebt sagas.

It is now abundantly clear that swapping the bumbling marketing guru Scott Morrison for the suspiciously wealthy property developer Peter Dutton might not have been enough to hose down the concerns that Liberal voters have about the direction that the party is heading in.

It’s especially bad for the Liberals now that women are allowed to go to uni and get jobs – and even worse, allowed to vote.

With Fletcher retiring this term, the top brass of the Liberal Party made it clear that they wanted to pre-select a female to replace him, in order to keep the sheila voters happy. Or as they call them, ‘The Doctors Wives’.

Still, that nearly didn’t happen.

With Fletcher retiring this term, Liberal strategists made it clear that they wanted to pre-select a female to replace him, in order to keep the sheila voters happy. Or as they call them, ‘The Doctor’s Wives’.

Still, that nearly didn’t happen.

The local Liberal branch worked tirelessly to pre-select controversial political grifter Warren Mundine, the face of the No campaign during the referendum. Bradfield is the only Liberal seat that voted Yes.

A woman somehow managed to win the candidacy during a vote last month. The conservatives now publicly blames woke feminism for the fact that the Liberals have treated Mundine like a single-use black man.

Regardless, it seems that the momentum from 2022 has only grown for the Independent candidate, with a highly motivated army of door knockers and public figures that actually care more about climate change and political corruption than Peter Dutton’s campaign to take down Aboriginal flags from all public buildings.
