Prime Minister Morrison has urged white men around Australia to stop ruining the narrative and acting like terrorists.
“It’s not helping everything we are trying to do as a government” he said.
“Haha come on guys. This is quite inconvenient for us. White people shooting at cops in the middle of the city is a little more than a mental health episode”
This comes after a 16-hour siege in Launceston that saw over 33 gun shots fired at the police overnight, and another shoot out in Brisbane on Tuesday that resulted in one of the city’s busiest thoroughfare’s being close in the middle of a work day.
Last night armed Tasmanian officers entered a Launceston house and brought a 16-hour siege to an end after they felt a “woman’s life was in imminent danger”.
Police had earlier said a 24-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman were keeping police at bay, and they urged the pair to surrender peacefully.
Heavily armed officers moved in on Saturday morning, after and loud bangs were heard during the raid before both the angry white man and the female were both brought out.
“No-one has been injured,” police said.
“So, no need for anymore headlines or comments from politicians”
