Two weeks out from the presidential election and America has not been this divided since the conclusion of their Civil War.
With the Black Lives Matter protests still bubbling in the major cities, and a deadly pandemic that millions of people are willing to believe isn’t real, the traditional media outlets are thriving off the attention and money being generated by pointing a camera towards Donald Trump and pressing the record button.
Regardless of the result of the election next month, it is unclear what will become of this manic energy in the American news cycles and politics that has been rapidly building towards this moment.
While Donald Trump may find success with his LAW AND ORDER pitch, data shows that Americans may have grown tired of petty brand of populist politics.
Democrat candidate Joe Biden may succeed off the back of the warm nostalgia that Americans have towards the Obama era.
As the former Vice President for two terms under the first black President, Biden unites voters of all race and creeds and asks them to cast their minds back to how much more relaxing life was before the current President came along.
Back to a time where the biggest concern for the average American was being murdered by a crazy clown in the street.
In case you have forgotten, the 2016 clown sightings were reports of people disguised as evil clowns in unconventional settings, such as near forests and schools.
The incidents were reported in the United States, Canada, and Australia as early as August that year.
The sightings were first reported in Wisconsin in what many people believed to be a marketing stunt for a horror film. The event began gaining traction on social media, and the phenomenon later spread to many other cities in the US, most notably South Carolina where a 9-year-old boy told his mother that two suspicious males dressed as clowns tried to lure him into the nearby woods. By mid-October 2016, clown sightings and attacks had been reported in nearly all U.S. states, 9 out of 13 provinces and territories of Canada, and 18 other countries.
While no one really knows what the fuck happened back then, it is worth mentioning that this is the type of thing that the news cycle grabs hold of when they have a President who works 19-hour days and avoids pitting minorities against each other.
It is not known if America will ever return to the peacetime eccentricities seen during the Obama-era, where spooky clowns were the biggest concern – on top of all the school shootings and wars in the middle east.
