The Australian Bureau of Meteorology’s leading forecasters have this week issued a stern warning to Betoota and surrounds.
While making an effort to issue their warning in fluent Western Queensland English, the BOM has warned he’s about to get fucken warm.
The Channel Country, Maranoa and Warrego regions are expected to feel some fucken bite round Tuesday or Wednesday, according to the BOM.
This warning points to a severe stinker in the western and southern interior today – with some parts of the south-west looking good to shoot past 11 odd degrees above average.
Temperatures in the back country towns of Cunnamulla, Quilpie, Thargomindah and Windorah should be hitting the low 40s this week, which as you’d know, isn’t that chilly.
The heat should be hanging around for the best part of the week, and locals are urged to put sprinklers on the roofs if they are running a corrugated iron set up.
Local kids have been asked to please not carry on too much in the public pools, because it’s gonna be such a stinker that the old codgers need to have a dip as well. So try to avoid doing any indies or backies from the ten metre for the next week, because that obviously causes a lot of waves – and our seniors are already scared enough young people after that last election.
The BOM says God willing this heat will likely fuck off towards the coast later in the week.
