Parts of Brisbane have recorded up to 200 millimetres of rain overnight, with more to come – as the city looks on track to cop as much rain as they did during the 2022 floods.
The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) said 197 millimetres of rain was recorded in the Brisbane suburb of Rosalie, 189mm in Mt Coot-tha, 173mm in Bowen Hills and more than 160mm in Brisbane.
A severe weather warning for heavy rain remains in place throughout the state, as Queenslanders deal with the tropical weather patterns that have followed Cyclone Kirily last month.
Brisbane residents remain vigilant today, with many unable to get to road due to road closures.
It is not yet certain whether this weekend will be spent running as fast as possible and jumping onto a boogie board and skimming in the park or backyard, or if it will be spent with shovels in hand as part of the iconic Brisbane mud army.

With the rain is set to ease from tomorrow, the city of Brisbane is wait cautiously to find out if this is gonna be a fun memory for the River City, or a moment of resilience that only Queenslanders can recover from.
