There was an elephant in the room at a bucks party this weekend.
Not the fact that the groom’s wife to be had explicitly outlined what she would do if there were strippers present over the weekend.
But who would be taking the bullet and giving their credit card to the staff at the hotel reception upon check-in.
Heading up to Cairns for Matt Sampson’s bucks weekend, the group of 6 were booked into a large hotel room in the backpackers paradise.
Driving a 7 seater up from Townsville, the travellers spoke about all manner of things on the way to the hotel.
From plans, to the physical and social shortcomings of various members of the bucks trip, however the group of men all avoided going near who was going to be putting down the plastic come check in time.
Parking the car and heading into the hotel lobby, Will Matthews, the best man who organised the trip ambitiously asked if anyone else would be up for putting their card on the line.
The group looked towards Waydo, the mining engineer who’s on heaps of coin and has been talking up spending big on this weekend for months.
“[Haha] Nah I don’t think you can do that aye. It’s gotta be the card of the guy whose name the booking is in,” he said, lying through his teeth.
Resigned to his fate, Matthews sighed, walked up to the desk, pulled his card out of his wallet and handed it over to the receptionist
More to come.
