The Penrith Panthers dynasty is over.
The Bulldogs Premiership window has closed.
The Broncos, Cowboys, Sharks and Storm can all get fucked.
Because Latrell is looking fit, and Wayne is back home.
These are the sentiments currently echoing around South Sydney worksites, butchers, office building break rooms, barbershops – and on the wharves the Port Of Botany.
The diaspora of Rabbitohs members, who now extend north to Western Queensland, and as fart West as the Kiwi heavy suburbs of Perth like Ellenbrook, are all parrotting the same the talking points.
And it all comes down to 15 second video that was posted to Instagram by the South Sydney Rabbitohs social media team.
The once injury-plagued fullback Latrell Mitchell is looking as fit as he’s ever looked, and the returning patriarchal NRL coach Wayne Bennett is looking equally as sharp.
Pagewood-based council surveyor, Glen Dix (40), has immediately begun discrediting any of his workmates predictions for the 2025 NRL season – because based on that video alone – the Bunnies are going to comfortably win the Premiership.
“Wayne just had to finish a side quest” he says.
“He took the money up north, and came back for some unfinished business”
When asked whether he thinks the Grand Final-losing Melbourne Storm might still carry a bit of momentum in this year’s comp, Glen pisses himself laughing.
“Are you fucked in the head. Have you seen our team?! Haha that will just about do me”
When asked if he thinks the Panthers have it in them to win a fifth Premiership on the trot, Glen says absolutely no chance in hell.
“Have you seen the video?”
“No the one they posted the other day. Like two days ago. Go look at it. Latrell kicking. Fuck he’s looking good. Wayne’s there too”
“It’s all over for you clowns”
