Former US president Donald Trump has defeated his Democratic rival, Vice-President Kamala Harris, in both the Electoral College and the popular vote, securing his second term in the White House.
Harris has today conceded defeat, despite multiple states finishing their vote count within the margin of error.
However, unlike the 2020 election, which saw the Democrat candidate Joe Biden comfortably pulling in more electoral votes than Donald Trump is now able to claim, there doesn’t seem to be any allegations of voter fraud from the losing side.
Even with bomb threats being made to marginal county voting booths, and an elite Republican apparatus capable of ‘flooding the zone’ with superior social media campaigning – the Democrats are very much looking inwards in their efforts to understand what could have caused this loss.
And while the people who make up the grassroots level of left-wing community organising do not expect the Democratic Party to learn the lessons they need to learn from this upset, the losers have remained seemingly humble in defeat.
There has been no allegations of faulty vote counting, or conspiracies about voter fraud – and so far Kamala Harris has not rallied her supporters to meet in Washington D.C to ‘stop the steal’ using force.
This is mostly because the average Democrat voter is too busy shoveling dirt and emptying bed pans to bother taking a week off work to travel to the Capitol and commit treason.
“Someone’s gotta pay for the billion dollar subsidies that are about to gifted to Elon Musk” says local Teamster, Sherrod Wayan (55).
“I’m too busy breaking my bad to storm the capital”
Meanwhile, the retirees and crypto bros that spat the dummy in 2020 continue are no longer regretting their over-excited actions on January 6th, as the re-election of Donald Trump will likely see them pardoned.
The nation’s rapidly shrinking middle class that voted for Kamala Harris now has no option but to look forward to the next election with hopes that the Democrat establishment will finally manage to communicate with the other half of America.
The party heavyweights remain faithful that Kamala will have an even bratter summer in 2028.
