Israel Folau is now demanding $14 million in compensation from Rugby Australia, claiming he could have been a Wallabies captain.
That’s if he didn’t post all that stuff about gay people going to hell on social media.
The former Fortitude Valley rat has continued to shock the nation with his beliefs, now claiming that he could have been skipper of the 2019 rugby world cup side, ahead of David Pocock and Michael Hooper.
Folau lodged an updated statement of claim in the Federal Circuit Court where he’s increasing his demands from $10 million to $14 million.
Folau, who is a frequent speaker at his dad’s tax-free pentecostal Sydney Church that has close ties to our Prime Minister’s tax-free pentecostal Sydney Church says his contract termination will cost him $4.2 million from 2019-2022, as well as $300,000 in match payments from 2019-2021 and an additional $150,000 in match payments in 2022.
All of this might be true, but the entire judicial system, and his former employers say they are confused about whose fault he thinks it is that he won’t be receiving that money.
While his lawyers argue that it’s not his fault, and that Qantas and Rugby Australia have a conspiracy against anyone who thinks gay people aren’t human, a lot of blame is also being directed to the AFL.
Namely because of how they made Israel Folau play Aussie Rule for three years, knowing very well that he was quite shit at it, and possibly exposing him to countless head knocks.
More blame could also be pointed towards the NRL who likely caused him several head knocks during piss ups with the 2008-2010 Queensland Origin squads. It is unknown how many head injuries Folau suffered back when he was a lapsed Mormon in the NRL – before Hillsong – and well before he peeled off to start his own Church.
“We believe Mr Folau may have struggled keeping up with Neville Costigan and Michael Crocker, on the piss that is, and may have suffered a few concussions out on the tiles” argued his lawyer.
“Fifteen years of contact sport and intermittent binge drinking between religions doesn’t mix well with social media”
