The Nation’s Greek-Australian grandparents are very cranky this afternoon, as their grandchildren begged them to take the advice of medical experts seriously, four weeks before Orthodox Easter is set to take place.
This comes as the Prime Minister and state and territory leaders want all non-essential gatherings of more than 500 people to be suspended from Monday amid fears about the spread of coronavirus.
The Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix in Melbourne had already been cancelled, and spectators for cricket games banned. The Super Rugby has been discontinued indefinitely.
The NRL, soccer and AFL matches will go ahead without crowds, for the time being.
