A local inner-city wine mum has today informed her daughter that she simply doesn’t have time to hear about how she went in her HSC, saying the election on the other side of the world is far more important.
Marigold Harper (54) has been closely following the Harris campaign since she replaced Biden in the Democratic presidential race. Since then, her life has been consumed by politics, the likes of which she hasn’t experienced since Obama in 2008.
Unfortunately, Marigold’s youngest daughter, Indie (17), is in the middle of her all-important HSC exams and could desperately use a parental figure’s support right now.
“I’ve told her the world doesn’t always revolve around her,” Marigold explained while frantically sipping a wine.
“Our lives depend on this election. Indie’s going to have to take a back seat on this one.”
Like many inner-city wine mums around the globe, Marigold has developed somewhat of a parasocial relationship with the Democratic leader.
“She may single-handedly bring peace to the planet if she wins.”
“I’ll admit, I got a little bit overexcited for Obama, but this time it’s different; I can feel it,” she explained.
While Marigold would prefer to not have to think too deeply about what Kamala Harris truly stands for, she remains confident that she will bring positive change to the USA.
