The cracks are starting to show in the Liberal branches around NSW, as the conservative members begin getting overruled by the party’s yuppie strategists.

While Peter Dutton does not believe in quotas for females, the NSW Liberal Party is well aware that they need to be pre-selecting as many of them as possible if they want to stop losing seats to Independent challengers.

In 2022, The Liberal Party lost 6 of the once most reliable blue ribbon seats to ‘Teals’ – high-profile female small-L independents that probably would have once put their hand up for the Liberals if people like Julie Bishop hadn’t been bullied out of the party.

However, in a weird twist of identity politics: The Liberals are now facing backlash from their hard-right factions for not supporting the pre-selection of an Aboriginal man in the whitest seat in Australia.

However, Bradfield, in Sydney’s upper North Shore is also the only Liberal electorate that voted YES in the Indigenous Voice Referendum.

So it would seem surprising that the Liberals wouldn’t run an Aboriginal man in this seat.

Except this isn’t just any Aboriginal man, it’s Warren Mundine, the face of the Vote No campaign – and a close friend of Tony Abbott. A shapeshifting political elite whose candidacy would be so off the mark that only the party’s Sky News lunatics would be sufficiently fucked enough in the head to even entertain it – just to so they can reject the candidacy of a woman.

This was at least the 5th time Warren Mundine has tried to get himself elected to Parliament, through three different political parties. It would seem that his tireless work campaigning for Peter Dutton against the Indigenous Voice was something he was hoping to be repaid for.

Unfortunately, the NSW ‘wet’ Liberals were not interested in running a man – black or white – in a seat that suffered a 20% swing to the Teals last election.

Dutton may now face internal turmoil from the hard-right over their dear friend Mundine’s preselection loss to a WOMAN. Also known as tech executive Gisele Kapterian, who joins her supporters Gladys Berejiklian and Joe Hockey as yet another Armenian-Australian Liberal Party heavyweight from that part of the world.

Meanwhile, the rest of the party is just thankful they don’t actually have to engage with an Aboriginal man in person, with one insider telling the Betoota Advocate that ‘there would be snow in Cairns before they ever ran a black man in the Prado belt’.
