Proving once again they are innovating far more than online streaming services, Channel 7 has aired a pilot episode of their daring new biopic miniseries “Kochie” staring Lincoln Lewis as up-and-coming TV host David ‘Kochie’ Koch.
Known primarily for being a TV heartthrob and the son of a living God, Lincoln Lewis states playing David Koch was a very difficult role to get into.
“It’s quite hard because I’m used to being liked” stated Lewis.
According to Lewis, the mini-series will discuss the formative years of young Kochie, recounting stories of his wild nights partying at BRW magazine and an incident where another parent waiting to pick their kid up from school didn’t recognise him.
Lewis states he and the real Kochie spent a lot of time together in order for him to get into character, an experience Lewis describes as feeling much longer than it was.
“He made me write down everything he said which mostly involved stories about the Kokoda Track and his opinions on the #metoo movement.”
According to the man himself, Kochie strictly oversaw what was included in his biopic series and demanded that it was done “with honesty and integrity, like public breastfeeding,” adding that each episode would finish with the real Kochie giving a piece of financial advice.
“Lincoln wasn’t my first choice, I wanted someone much more attractive and muscular, but he was willing to shave his head so he got the job,” stated Kochie.
Satisfied with what he has seen so far, Kochie is hoping to extend the mini-series to cover the Sunrise years with Margot Robbie attached to play Samantha Armytage.
