I’LL HAVE WHAT SHE’S HAVING!! Hollywood actress Meg Ryan has permitted her iconic ‘orgasm scene’ from the 1989 romcom ‘When Harry Met Sally’ be used an advertising materials for the ‘Yes Campaign’ ahead of Australia’s historic Indigenous Voice to parliament referendum.

Meg Ryan, 61, says as a supporter of basic human rights and equality – it’s the least she can do, and hopes that a successful referendum result will help the two minute clip live on with a completely different legacy.

This famous moment in cinema history will be broadcast across the nation on social media and TV advertisements urging Australians to vote ‘Yes… Yes…. YES!’ to an Indigenous Voice.

In the now famous scene from the box office smash it, Meg Ryan’s character Sally simulates a fake orgasm that gets increasingly loud to prove to Harry (Billy Crystal) that he is unable to tell a fake one from a real one.

The film is remembered as one of the earliest success stories in the romantic comedy genre, and the ‘orgasm scene’ still lives on in New York tourism – with the famous Kat’z Deli in Manhattan still drawing a nonstop stream of tourists to this day.

However, when it comes to Australia’s upcoming referendum, Meg Ryan says she hopes this world-renowned orgasm will help encourage Australians to back the proposal of installing a permanent Indigenous advisory body within the Federal Australian Parliament to communicate the unique circumstances and historical disadvantages faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Joining Australian pop star John Farnham, who has also given his iconic ‘You’re The Voice’ song to the Yes Campaign, Meg Ryan says this scene changed her life – and she only hopes it can do the same for Australia’s First Nation’s people.

However, Meg Ryan has also faced backlash from anonymous social media users who have photos of either motorbikes or scary German symbols in their profile display pictures.

“Used to love Meg Ryan… But she’s lost me with this rubbish. She’s just another elite whos being paid off by the Aborijinal communists!” wrote Bevan227.

Another social media, SonOfOdin666, says “Iconic on-screen orgasms from late 1980s romcoms and politics should never mix!”

MORE TO COME.
