Getting engaged is one of the happiest moments in a person’s life, it’s a time of love, celebration and the bringing together of families.
But as one recently engaged woman is this morning learning, it’s also a time when your mum loses the plot and forgets all personal boundaries.
Claire Macintosh (30) explains to The Advocate that she’ll cop a few calls a week from her mum, but ten before breakfast is ridiculous.
“I don’t understand how she even has that many thoughts running through her head”
“Each call is about something different; what kind of flowers do I want? What kind of forks will I use? Have I thought about what type of cake I want? Don’t forget that Aunty Jen and Sue aren’t talking so you can’t sit them on the same table.”
“Sometimes she just calls and says she can’t remember why she called”
“I am baffled that she has this much time to think about it”
In fact, Claire’s mother has been so overwhelming that she has had to take the drastic measure of banning her from calling at all.
“I told her that I will block her number if she keeps calling, I’ve limited her to 3 wedding-related calls per week for the next 2 months”
Our reporter has reached out to Claire’s mother to see how she is coping with the probation, it’s believed she will be calling back after she gets off the phone with an amazing wedding photographer that Claire simply must-have.
