NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has fronted the media at 11am this morning to announce the horrifying news that Greater Sydney recorded 38 new locally acquired cases in the 24 hours to 8:00pm yesterday.
It’s the highest number of new infections the state has recorded in a 24-hour reporting since the Ruby Princess.
It’s a number that has caused great concern for health experts, the day after the Premier announced plans to extend the lockdown by another full wee- anyway did you see that there was a pod of whales off the coastline this morning.
Anyone with friends within driving distance of the Pacific Ocean in greater Sydney has learnt that there are heaps of huge sea animals bobbing off the headlands today!
It’s really added a pep in the step for Sydney residents, as the begin to take their exercise way more seriously in lockdown.
Anyway back to the whole locked down economy thing, the source of 12 of today’s infections remain under investigation.
The Premier said 11 of the new cases had been infectious for a number of days while out in the community, so this already extended lockdown might go a bit longer – but that’s not that big of an issue when you’ve got gorgeous coastlines that you are allowed to walk along constantly.
You might even see a whale!!
