The final lap of the 2020 Queensland election is upon us, and the incumbent Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk is going all out to win over the usos and tokos.

With a last minute announcement to boost funding for the Woodridge drill rap scene, Palaszczuk appears to be walking the walk.

Innovation Minister Kate Jones has today announced $50 million to back more than 30 Queensland drill rap projects in the greater ‘Woods’ region.

Ms Jones said drillers would receive support as part of the latest round of the government’s ALL4114ALL program, aimed at providing the Queensland Polynesian Drill Rap a competitive edge over the Western Sydney scene.

“The Mount Druitt glow up is one of the biggest challenges we’ve ever had to face” Palaszczuk said.

“The funding announced today will allow our drillers to get on with some of the most important work of their careers.”

“The videos”

“Queensland drillers have the bars and the audio production talent to outshine their New South Wales contemporaries, but the last thing we want is anyone getting in trouble with the law trying to raise money for high quality videographers”

As pointed out by the Premier, Queensland rap artists like NME and Lisi have already amassed millions of views on YouTube, but this funding boost could raise the stakes even higher.

“Fuck a drone” said the Premier.

“We want cameras hanging helicopters out here in the Woods”

“And fuck flares. We want full blown fireworks in this bitch”

The Premier’s funding allocation to boost the production of Queensland hip hop has been met with positive feedback from Goodna to Logan City, as rap crews can now focus on spitting bars without having to engage in crime to pay for the high-end production costs.

“Because we all know what will happen then” said Palaszczuk.

“The LNP will put curfews in place and then our state’s next ARIA-winning albums will have to be produced from inside Wacol”

MORE TO COME.
