With nothing really to talk about since he made the active decision to undermine the 2022 Referendum for cheap political points, Peter Dutton is worried the most defining moment of this year will be the ABC’s new three-part documentary about how much everyone in his party hate each other and suck at politics.
The new show, which airs tonight, is titled Nemesis – ‘the inside story of ambition, betrayal and revenge in the Coalition years of government.’
The series aims to take viewers inside the last nine years of Coalition government under Tony Abbott, Malcolm Turnbull and ened spectacularly with the soon to be retired Scott Morrison.
Both former and current Coalition MPs tell all in candid interviews that capture this tumultuous period of Australian politics. The docu-series allows these men – who were too old to understand the rise of the 24 hour social media news cycle, and too rich to understand why the general public rejected their out-of-touch vision of Australia, to absolutely massacre both each other’s characters and denigrate the party they once thought would deliver them a JFK style legacy.
This landmark retelling of the very recent history of how three Prime Ministers gained, wielded and ultimately lost power.
Nemesis continues the ABC’s tradition of documenting Australia’s most messy political eras, following ‘Labor in Power’, ‘The Howard Years’ and ‘The Killing Season’
However, unlike previous serious Nemesis is told using the narration-less format with the participants telling their story in their own words in a chronological timeline with an array of different perspectives.
It’s because of this format, where nobody is doing any talking except the people involved in this fruitless 9 years of economic waste, that Peter Dutton is struggling to construct a narrative that paints the ABC as a biased tax-payer-funded communist hive of UnAustralian cowards who want to destroy this country by discrediting him and his party.
“They’ll do anything just to criticise the Liberals” says Peter Dutton, as he prepares for old wounds to be torn open at 8pm tonight.
“This is so typical of the ABC”
“A.K.A, Always Broadcasting Communism!”
