Though most people grow out of picky eating after realising you can actually season vegetables, there are some who never adapt their taste buds to adult life – much to the annoyance of everyone around them.
As someone who downright refuses to try anything new, local woman Amy Buchanan is one of those fussy eaters, with not so much of a gluten intolerance or seafood allergy to excuse her picky palate.
Despite this being absolutely fine when left to her own devices, those who deign to dine with Amy often end up feeling frustrated and at a loss to find a cuisine that will cater to her – such as tonight’s plans, which have quickly been derailed by her demands.
Though not liking seafood was perfectly understandable, Amy has kicked it up a notch by hating pretty much every staple ingredient, including cheese, tomato, onions, potato, eggs, rice, bacon and any green vegetable, to name a few.
This has made family dinners out virtually impossible, as pretty much 80% of cuisine is wiped off the table.
To accommodate her, family and friends are left with no choice but to opt for gastro pubs and taverns, which at least come with a kids menu option to tide her over while the rest of the adults eat something with nutrients.
Kicking her feet underneath as she browses the menu, Amy unashamedly orders the kids chicken tendies with a bowl of chips, piping up that she has no plans of sharing her food with anyone else.
More to come.
